Winter Gate Closure at Tūī Glen Reserve

Important Update: Winter Hours and Access to Tūī Glen Reserve

With the start of winter hours, the Auckland Council has now shifted to the seasonal operating schedule for public parks. This means that, from Monday 6th April onward, the vehicle gates at Tūī Glen Reserve will close at 7:00 pm.

This change affects vehicle access to the area where Casa Brasil is located, especially for families attending late‑afternoon programmes.

Gate Closure at 7:00pm

During the winter period, the vehicle gate at Tūī Glen Reserve is locked promptly at 7:00 pm.
Pedestrian access remains available through the side paths, but vehicles cannot enter or exit after the gate is locked.

This is part of the Auckland Council’s standard safety policy for parks across the city.

Exception Request for Our Programmes

To ensure the safe and smooth continuation of our activities, we have formally requested an exception to the gate‑closing time for the days and hours of our programmes.

This request has already been submitted to the Auckland Council and is currently under review. We will update our community as soon as we receive an official response.

Temporary Recommendation: Park at West Wave

While we wait for the Council’s decision, we recommend that families park at the West Wave Car Park and walk to Casa Brasil.
This is the safest way to avoid any risk of vehicles being locked inside the Tūī Glen Reserve carpark after 7:00 pm.

The walk is short, safe, and well‑lit, offering peace of mind for everyone.

Thank You for Your Understanding

We appreciate the cooperation, patience, and care of all families during this seasonal transition.
Our team remains committed to ensuring that our programmes continue to run with safety, warmth, and organisation.
