Aligned with Te Whāriki (NZ ECE Curriculum)
At Brasileirinhos Aotearoa, our early childhood programmes are proudly aligned with Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s Early Childhood Education Curriculum, following the Te Ara Whānui pathway. This broad, inclusive pathway supports our multicultural community and allows us to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi while celebrating Brazilian language, culture, and identity.
Our child-centred approach is guided by Te Whāriki’s four principles:
- Empowerment - Whakamana
- Holistic Development - Kotahitanga
- Family and Community - Whānau Tangata
- Relationships - Ngã Hononga
and five strands of learning:
- Wellbeing - Mana Atua
- Belonging - Mana Whenua
- Contribution - Mana Tangata
- Communication - Mana Reo
- Exploration - Mana Aotūroa
Rooted in Brazilian culture and Portuguese language, our curriculum nurtures identity, connection, and joyful learning for every child, while upholding the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand.
